The Tribeca Series is a series of lamps, pendants, and chandeliers inspired by New York City glamour from the late 1930’s. The name "Tribeca" is therefore a reference to the iconic district on Lower West Manhattan, the triangle below Canal Street. The different designs in the Tribeca series were created by Søren Rose on a journey through America. This journey became a long, creative process for the designer, where he found old lamps and reusable parts that made every lamp a unique piece. The classic design in Walker Ceiling/Wall Lamp from the Tribeca series is reinterpreted with the combination of black steel and brass.
Danish designer Søren Rose was commissioned to design the Walker Lamp for The Silo, a former grain tower converted into apartments and public space in Copenhagen. The development is the centerpiece of an urban revitalization scheme transforming the Nordhavnen waterfront district of the city. Each of the Silo’s 17 storeys varies in size, resulting in 40 uniquely proportioned apartments (including one owned by AUDO’s founder Bjarne Hansen). No two apartments are the same, but each is fitted with the brass Walker Lamp.
